3D Design / Moulds & Products
We use Mastercam for 3D design and for preparing 3D cutter paths for our CNC mills. The picture on the right shows the face of a core insert. In this case the customer supplied us with an Iges virtual model of the component. The cyan coloured surfaces are taken
from the model (after scaling for mould shrinkage).
The picture to the left shows the finished core with a component from the tool in the background.
We can import model files in several formats including, Iges, Catia and Parasolids.
We can, of course, design components from customers instructions. This virtual model of an enclosure was created for a firm in the north of England.
